Violence and massacres against women are increasing in parallel with the impunity policy of the judiciary. Lawyer Suzan Karagol said that women are put in a position of being tried, especially in cases where the perpetrator is a soldier or police officer.
Activist lawyer Çiro Şiwanî, who stated that the “Personal Statute Law” that is being tried to be passed in the Iraqi Parliament poses a threat to women and children, called for “Everyone must fight against this law that destroys women and targets the values of society.”
