Mustafa Filitoğlu, Cihan Alkan and Davut Barin, who had been detained in Eskişehir H Type Closed Prison, reported that they had started an undefinite non-rotating hunger strike action since January 21, 2019.

 

The letter Mustafa Filitoğlu wrote to Yeni Yaşam Newspaper to announce his hunger strike on January 21 was confiscated and found inconvenient.The letter which was found inconvenient by Eskişehir H-Type Prison Letter Reading Commission was not sent.

 

ANNOUNCING A HUNGER STRIKE WAS CONSIDERED A CRIME

 

Disciplinary Committee of Eskişehir H-Type Closed Prison found the announcement of hunger strikes objectionable and said: " It has been observed that the  statements above contain sentences that lead to the communication of members of  criminal organizations or other criminal organizations for the purposes of terrorism and exploitation."

 

It was also learned that detainees Filitoğlu, Barin and alkan was given disciplinary penalty by the disciplinary board.
