In Tekirdağ F Type Closed Prison No 1, prisoner Mehmet Başaran had a heart attack on 2 November. Başara, who was taken to the intensive care unit of a hospital in the city without informing his family, was taken back to the prison on 6 November. 

 

On 23 November, Başaran called his family and stated that his condition was very bad but the prison administration did not take him to hospital.  

 

Başaran's family contacted our agency and stated that they are worried because they have not heard from Mehmet Başaran. Başaran family continued: "If there is any problem, the Ministry of Justice and the prison administration are guilty. We will file a criminal complaint against them. Also, normally the prison should inform us about such issues. However, the prison administration does not call us and does not answer our phone calls." 

 

The prison we called about the issue denied the allegations.
