ADANA - Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation against those who were beaten during the police attack on the trustee protest on the charge "resisting to prevent the fullfill of duty".

Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation against the people who were beaten by the police attacking the statement of Adana Labour and Democracy Platform against the appointment of trustees to Mardin Metropolitan, Êlih (Batman) and Xelfeti (Halfeti) municipalities. Gürcan Turşak was among the crowd and police intervened her with tear gas and detained after beating her. She was released the same day, but the prosecutor's office started an investigation against Turşak on the charge of "resisting to prevent the fullfill of duty".

DEM Party Karataş District Organization executive member Mehmet Kıran is also investigated on the same charge. Kıran was called to testify at Adana Pro vincial Security Directorate Securtiy Directorate. Kıran evaluated the investigation against him by saying that they are constantly subjected to police violence in Adana and that investigations and lawsuits are filed against them and that pressure and violence will not deter them from their struggle.

It is learned that many people like Turşak and Kıran were called to testify due to the protest.
