ŞIRNEX - 6 children who were kept waiting at the Habur Border Gate have been placed in a ministry dormitory in Şirnex.

The 6 children of Çelik family, who are registered in Kop (Bulanık) district of Mûş and were kept waiting at the Habur Border Gate in Silopi district of Şirnex (Şırnak) for 4 days and were not allowed to cross, crossed to Silopi at midnight last night.

Savaş Çelik was forced to migrate to Syria with his wife and 6 children in 2016 due to political reasons. Çelik, who was detained in Lebanon while trying to go to Europe in 2022 and brought to Turkey, was arrested by the court and sent to Erzurum Dumlupınar Type T Closed Prison. After Çelik was arrested, the mother of the children could not return for political reasons and the children were left in the middle

HELD FOR 4 DAYS

Upon this, uncle Vasıf Çelik made attempts to bring the children back to Kop. Uncle Çelik went to the Federated Kurdistan Region to bring his nephews D. Ç. (16), Z. Ç. (14), E. Ç. (12) A. Ç. (9), F. Ç. (10) and F. Ç. (11) to Mûş. The children were kept waiting at the border gate for 4 days on the grounds that their ID cards were old. When the children were not allowed to cross, uncle Çelik was stranded at the Habur Border Gate with the children.

WAITING FOR DNA MATCHING

After our news report, the uncle and the children were allowed to pass through the border crossing last night. The children were placed in a dormitory of the Ministry of Family and Social Services in the center of Şirnex. The children will stay in the dormitory until the DNA matching between the children and their father, who is in prison.

It is learned that the children will be handed over to their uncles after DNA matching.
