SÊRT - Eylem Aykaç, daughter of Mehti Aykaç, a prisoner in Patnos Type L Closed Prison, stated that she is worried about her father's health condition and that he needs to be treated.

Mehti Aykaç (55), a prisoner in Patnos Type L Closed Prison, has health problems such as hearing loss and chronic headache, in addition to kidney failure. Eylem Aykaç talked about the meeting she had with her father on January 8 and stated that they were worried about his life due to his serious health problems.
 
'IT CANNOT BE TREATED, HE MAY HAVE A BRAIN TUMOR'
 
Stating that her father, who was tried with aggravated life imprisonment and imprisoned for 12 years, had chronic headaches and a tumor was suspected, Aykaç stated that a full diagnosis was not made because it was not treated. At the same time, Aykaç stated that her father had difficulties in prison conditions due to kidney failure and said: “Although he is sick, he is exposed to physical and psychological violence. My father is 55 and looks 70."
 
Drawing attention to the problems experienced in Patnos Prison, Aykaç said: "The water flowing from the tap is dirty and smells bad. they could not even perform ablution with this tap water and they had to buy water from the canteen with money to perform ablution. He has to buy water from the canteen 5 times a day to pray. This situation still continues."
 
‘3 MONTHS VIEW BAN WAS GIVEN’
 
Stating that pens, notebooks, letters and photographs were confiscated during the raids on the cells, Aykaç said that requests to take back the items were rejected. Adding that her father was subjected to physical torture and was banned from visiting for 3 months. Aykaç said that they lived in fear of receiving news of his death at any time due to health problems. Aykaç called for an end to the practices in prisons and for the release of ill prisoners.
