NEWS CENTER - Rojnews News Agency held the KDP management responsible for the life and security of their editor Süleyman Ahmet, who has not been heard from for 74 days.

There has been no news of Rojnews News Agency's Arabic editor Süleyman Ahmet for 74 days. While returning to Southern Kurdistan from the city of Aleppo, where he went to visit his family, on October 25, Ahmet was held by units affiliated with the KDP at the Pêşxabûr (Sêmalka) Border Gate and was never heard from again.

In the statement made 6 days later by the Duhok Public Order affiliated with the KDP, some claims were made that Ahmet is not a journalist.

Their lawyers applied to the Duhok Public Order Office to meet with Süleyman Ahmet, and received a response that the file was under the control of Parastin (KDP's intelligence agency), and they were prevented from meeting with their client on the grounds that the investigation was still ongoing.

Lawyers who are members of the Süleyman Ahmet Defense Group have not shared any information about Ahmet with the lawyers, although they have made more than 10 applications to date.

KDP ADMINISTRATION IS SILENT

There was no statement about Ahmet from the KDP administration, to which professional journalism organizations and non-governmental organizations made calls.

APPLIED TO THE UN

Rojnews officials, whose editors want the public to be informed as soon as possible about the situation of Süleyman Ahmet, also recently applied to the UN.

Rojnews Agency keep asking about Ahmet's situation in the news published: "Despite all the applications of the lawyers, Süleyman Ahmet's whereabouts are not told and he is not allowed to meet anyone. KDP is responsible for the life and security of our editor Süleyman Ahmet. As Rojnews Agency, we have been working with our agency in Arabic for 5 years. We condemn the unlawful kidnapping of Süleyman Ahmet, who worked as an editor at the service, and we want the public to be informed as soon as possible about his situation and the release of our friend."
