NEWS CENTER - There has been no news from journalist Süleyman Ahmet, who was detained by the KDP security forces, for 61 days.

There has been no news from Rojnews News Agency's Arabic Service Editor Süleyman Ahmet for 61 days. Journalist Ahmet was detained by the KDP security forces at the Pêşxabûr (Sêmalka) Border Gate while returning to Southern Kurdistan on October 25 from the city of Aleppo, where he went to visit his family on October 1.

In the statement made by Duhok Public Order, affiliated with KDP, 6 days after his detention, allegations were made that Ahmet had nothing to do with journalism.

Nerîman Ehmed, one of Süleyman Ahmet's lawyers, stated that the Duhok Public Order prevented them from meeting with their client on the grounds that the investigation was continuing and that the file was under the control of Parastin (KDP's intelligence agency).

Although lawyers who are members of the Süleyman Ahmet Defense Group have made more than 10 applications to date, the KDP forces have not shared any information about Süleyman Ahmet.
