LEADING WOMEN AT THE TARGET OF ATTACKS

Stating that women fighting against ISIS were targeted, TJA activist Zülfiye Kişmir said: “Since 2012, there have been attacks by ISIS in the Middle East, Rojava and Shengal. There are terrible policies of massacre, especially over women and children. On the other hand, women showed a great stance. ISIS is not something that we can deal with casually, it has a deep structure. There is a great struggle against it. In Rojava, women who are raising the fight against ISIS are being targeted. Women at the command level are particularly targeted because they are afraid of women. The attacks are not daily or periodic, they are the continuation of the 5,000-year-old male-dominated system. Women in Rojava are fighting against the 5,000-year-old patriarchy system as a goddess. No attack or massacre will make a woman take a step back.”
