DFG Co-Chair Müftüoğlu been detained for 4 days

ANKARA - DFG Co-chairperson Dicle Müftüoğlu, who has been detained for 4 days as part of the Ankara-based investigation, was asked about her journalism activities, her travels and phone calls in this context.
 
The security procedures of Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG) Co-chairperson Dicle Müftüoğlu, Mesopotamia Agency (MA) editor Sedat Yılmaz, Yılmaz's wife Selma Yılmaz and sister Filiz Yılmaz, Cahit Kanbay, CihanGüneş, Ramazan Debe, Erol Balcı, Evin Özbek, Rıdvan Aslan, İsmail Adanmış, Cahit Ablay, Mahmut Doği, Devran Ak, Hasan Özhan, Şemsettin Toprak, Abdurrahim Tanyeli and Mehmet Emin Yıldırım, who were detained in Amed(Diyarbakır) as part of the Ankara-based investigation and brought to Ankara, have been completed. Journalists and other names held in the Ankara Police Department are expected to be referred to the courthouse today.
 
THE 'WITNESS' OF KOBANÊ CASE 
 
The charges against Müftüoğlu, whose police statement was taken, were based on the statements of public witnesses Kerem Gökalp and "K8Ç4B3L1T5", who took part in the lawsuits filed against the activists of the Kobanê Case, Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES) and the Free Women's Movement (TJA).
 
Müftüoğlu was charged with her professional activities, her travels in this context and his search and wanted records within the scope of the investigation. In the investigation carried out, the DFG, of which Müftüoğlu is the Co-Chair, and the Mezopotamya Agency, of which she is the editor, were shown as "illegal".
 
Responding to the use of the phrase "so-called" about the Mesopotamia Agency in the questions asked to him, Müftüoğlu said: “MA is an agency that continues its activities legally. I also do journalism there. I am not working in accordance with any instructions."
 
Müftüoğlu was asked about her travel to the Federated Kurdistan Region to follow the 2017 referendum elections as part of her professional activities.

Müftüoğlu was asked about the call and called records between 2013-2020. Müftüoğlu stated that she does not remember many people since many years have passed, and that for others, there are interviews with colleagues and news sources within the scope of journalistic activities.

Müftüoğlu was asked about HTS records in Wan(Van), Amed(Diyarbakır), Şirnex(Şırnak) and Adana between 2014-2020, 2013-2016 and 2015-2020. Müftüoğlu said that she did not know many people named in the HTS records and that she was in the cities in question due to her professional activities.
 
HER COLLEAGUES WERE ASKED
 
Müftüoğlu was asked about her colleagues Sedat Yılmaz and his wife Selma Yılmaz, who were detained with her, and the employees and journalists of the Mezopotamya Agency. Müftüoğlu's joint base recordings with journalists were also brought as charges.
 
Müftüoğlu was asked about money transfers made from Dicle News Agency (DİHA), where she was the Editor-in-Chief between 2013 and 2016, and from dihaber, of which she was the Concessionaire. In addition, MASAK reports and money transfers between Müftüoğlu's family and journalist friends were subject to crime.
 
'I AM A JOURNALIST'
 
Refusing the accusations, Müftüoğlu stated that she is a journalist and that she has been prevented from carrying out her professional activities for 3 days and said: "I am a journalist open to the public, in front of everyone."
