İZMİR - In Bolu Prison, the released of 12 prisoners were delayed 30 times over a year, on the grounds of "not using water economically", "not leaving the organization", "not making a petition of regret", "not participating in spiritual activities".

In Bolu Type F Closed Prison, the executions of the prisoners are burned one by one by the Administration and Monitoring Board. As a result of the burnings that started in Bolu Prison in March 2022, the executions of 12 prisoners were burned countless times for reasons such as "You did not use water economical", "Don't leave the organization", "Not giving a petition of regret for leaving the organization", "not participating in spiritual activities". The release of the prisoners was delayed once again in March, and their release was delayed to June 2023.

30-YEAR-OLD PRISONERS

While it was learned that the most of prisoners whose release was delayed were prisoners of 30 years, it was stated that Nizam Algünerhan and Ferit Orak were on the list of ill prisoners. It was recorded that Algünerhan, who is 50 years old, has diabetes, severe varicose veins, lumbar-neck hernia, and Orak has vertigo, intestinal colitis, stomach ulcer, asthma and lumbar hernia.

APPLICATIONS WITHOUT RESULT

Informing that the release of 12 prisoners were delayed once again in March and their release was delayed until June 2023, Demirel said: “We have applied to both the Bolu High Criminal Court and the execution institution against delaying the release of prisoners. But the execution judge decides in parallel with the prison administration. We have not received any positive results in the applications we have made so far."

CALL TO RELEASE

Ill imprisoned writer and translator Nizam Algünerhan said in a phone call with his cousin Celal Algünerhan last week that his release was delayed because he did not accept the "repentance" imposition of his execution.

Celal Algünerhan, who condemned the postponement of the cousin's execution to June 15 by burning him for the second time, said: "This unlawfulness must be eliminated as soon as possible. Why are they still holding people who have been sentenced in prison? All democratic and political public opinion needs to intervene in this situation immediately."
