Sick prisoner Mehmet Emin Özkan hospitalised again

DİYARBAKIR - Seriously ill political prisoner Mehmet Emin Özkan was taken to hospital once again after his health taking a turn for the worse.
 
It has been learned that 83-year-old Mehmet Emin Özkan, who is on the list of seriously ill prisoners who need to be released from prisons, was taken to the hospital on September 2 and received treatment. The family stated that Özkan, who is being held in Diyarbakır Type D Prison, was taken to Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital after falling sick. The family stated that he was treated in the intensive care unit. The family stated that they were not informed about what is wrong with him.
 
HE HAD 5 HEART ATTACKS
 
Özkan is claimed to be involved in the killing of Brigadier General Bahtiyar Aydın in the Lice district of Diyarbakır in 1993. Özkan, who has been in prison for 27 years, has health issues like high blood pressure, goiter, osteoporosis, hearing and vision deficiency and memory loss. Özkan, who has had 5 heart attacks in prison so far, is not released from prison based on the reports given by the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK), despite the hospital's reports that says that he cannot remain in prison.
