URFA - KESK Urfa Branches Platform participated in the Senyaşar family's sit-in against oppression.

The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 533. The sit-in was launched on  March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Emine Şenyaşar and her son, who started their sit-in in the shaded area at the entrance of the courthouse early in the morning, were besieged by the police. The mother and son, who continued the sit-in despite the obstruction, moved to the area called "Şenyaşar family justice corner" after their lawyers made an appointment to meet with the Urfa Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor.

The family continues the sit-in with the members of the Confederation of Public Workers' Unions (KESK) Urfa Branches Platform, by opening the banner that reads "Our struggle for justice is under pressure on its 533rd day". Platform components will hold the sit-in with the family throughout the day.

Speaking on behalf of the platform components, Health and Social Service Workers Union (SES) Urfa Branch Co-chair Salih Karataş said: "The family was murdered inside the hospital, which is a public space. There was a massacre. Within an hour after this massacre, the entire camera system in the hospital was stolen. A deliberate attempt was made to cover up the massacre. It's not just the murderers who are guilty. Those who condone, help, and try to cover up are guilty. Justice is not a situation that changes according to governments, it is the main backbone of the state. Without justice, all the problems in this country will continue to grow. We stand by the rightful demands of the family. The family used their right of self-defense. Fadıl Şenyaşar should be released as soon as possible. Everyone plays blind, deaf and dumb, but Emine's mother's resistance will continue to disturb the blind, deaf and dumb and appeal to their conscience. We don't just ask for mercy, we state that we will stand by the family and embrace their just demands until the real law finds its place. We thank the family for being the voice of this country.”
