Yazidis return to Shengal despite KDP's interventions

As a result of the Iraqi army's attacks on Shengal, supported by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Turkey that was launced on April 18, many Yazidis were forced to leave their homes and crossed into the Federated Kurdistan Region. According to RojNews, the people started to return to Shengal after the Iraqi army withdrew on May 4 in the face of the resistance of the people. The Yazidis, whose ID Cards were confiscated by the KDP to prevent them from returning, returned to their homes in the Dugur region of Shengal, which was a target of intense attacks recently.
