ANKARA - Stating that the State of Emergency still continues in Cizre, HDP Şırnak MP Nuran İmir brought the police intervention carried out against the citizens with tear gas to the parliamentary agenda.

 

People's Democratic Party (HDP) Member of Parliament, Nuran İmir, brought the police intervention to citizens on the agenda yesterday in Cizre district of Şırnak. İmir tabled a parliamentary question with the request of the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu to answer.

 

İmir emphasized that General Information Screening (GBT) is imposed on the people in Şırnak and its districts in every corner, while interrogating the citizens at the same time, pointed out that this is an arbitrary and inappropriate practice.

 

İmir stated that the State of Emergency in the city continues with these practives. İmir asked in the parliamentary question the reasons why continue these practices while the whole world is fighting coronavirus and the world has stopped in the process. İmir also asked if there were any investigations about any of the police subjecting the citizens to violence in Cizre, as they did yesterday with their intervention with pepper spray.
