Odatv News Director Barış Terkoğlu was taken into custody during a police raid on his home. It was learned that Terkoğlu was detained because of his report published yesterday about a MİT (National Intelligence Organization) member who died in Idlib and was buried without an official funeral ceremony. Terkoğlu who was brought to İstanbul Security Directorate on Vatan Street is expected to be questioned for opposing the MİT law.

 

According to the report of Odatv, , a verbal order of detention was imposed on Terkoğlu due to the news in question with the verbal order of Istanbul Yılmaz, Deputy Chief Prosecutor. In addition, it was stated that the statement of Barış Terkoğlu can be taken at Çağlayan Courthouse directly by the Deputy Chief Prosecutor Hasan Yılmaz at the Police Headquarters. 

 

Terkoğlu was detained and arrested in a raid on Odatv in 2011 and was in prison for 19 months.
