HATAY - The 11 civillians Free Syrian Army (ÖSO) kidnapped from Efrin were sentenced to imprisonment with the accusation of killing 1 soldiers. Attorney Suphi Zarif, stating that the 11 people who were tortured were given heavy sentenced as a result of an 'absurd' accusation, said they will appeal to the court of Appeal.

While the pro-government media claims that the 11 civillians were caught as a result of a 'special operation', thw civillians kidnapped by the Free Syrian Army (ÖSO) from Efrin and delivered to National Intelligence Organization (MİT) were tried by the Hatay 2nd High Criminal Court and the hearing was finalized.

The defendants, who made the defense at the final hearing, denied the accusations against them and declared that their statements were taken under torture and that they were not guilty.

Their attorney stated that the statements of their client who were threatened with their families by the ÖSO members were taken under torture. The attorneys submitting the medical reports proving that the 2 soldiers were killed by shrapnal pieces, demanded release and acquittal for their clients.

However the court board sentenced 7 of the civillians to 3 times aggravated life sentence with the accusation of 'disrupting the unity and integrity of the state, 'deliberate killing' and 'being a member of an organization', while sentencing the other 4 to 12 years each with the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization'.
