URFA - Emine Şenyaşar whose husband and 2 sons were murdered by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives, demanded the release of his son Fadıl Şenyaşar who has been imprisoned in scope of the case.
In the general election period on 24 June 2018 in Suruç district of Urfa, tradesman Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar and his sons Çelal and Adil lost their lives during the attacks of the bodyguards and relatives of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız. Yildiz's brother Mehmet Sah Yildiz also lost his life in the same incident. During the past 1 and a half years, the only detainee of the case was Fadıl Şenyaşar, the other son of Şenyaşar, and on September 17, İbrahim Halil Yıldız's brother Enver Yıldız came to the Urfa courthouse with a group of 50 people and surrendered.
While there is no progress in the case so far, the position of the four prosecutors carrying out the investigation was changed. Emine Şenyaşar and his son Ferit Şenyaşar started a sit-in in front of the Urfa courthouse on September .
Upon Bar Association President Abdullah Oncel meeting the Chief Prosecutor and promising that the investigation will turn into a case, Şenyaşar family ended their sit in. Despite the fact that its been 2 months since the prosecutor's promise, the case is still pending.
Emine Şenyaşar who lost her husband and her 2 sons in the attack, demanding the release of her other son, said: "My son has been in prison for 18 months now. They are out there enjoying their lives. They massacred my sons in front of me. First at their work place then in the hospital. Where is that justice? Why is no one doing anything? Why is my son in prison? Why is he not released? I want justice. They killed my other sons. They must release my last son left. My son has been held in solitary confinement ever since he was arrested. Why is he not released? We will raise our demand for justice as long as we live."
