ADANA - For the last three years, attacks on tombstones were brought to court via BİMER. In Adana, 3 families and one marble mason was sued as a result of an anonymous tip with the accusation of 'Propagandizing an illegal organization'.
An investigation was opened by Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as a result of an anonymous tip to the Prime Ministry Communication Center about the headstones in Adana Küçükoba Cemetery located in Adana with the accusation of 'propagandizing an illegal organization'. Police conducted an investigation in the cemetery and saw that the headstones of Özgür Ertan, Azad Çakar and Bedrettin Akdeniz's headstones were destroyed.
As a result of the investigation, the Chief Public Prosecutor's office filed an indictment against the marble masons İ.V and Ü.V and the famlies of the 3 deceased with the accusation of 'propagandizing an illegal organization'. Adana 2nd High Criminal Court who accepted the indictment proceeded and the first hearing of the case will be held on December 12. The indicment included the accusation that there are signs and emblems of PKK/ KCK on the gravestones.
As a result of the investigation carried out by the police in the cemetery, the headstones with those signs and emblems were confiscated, while the indictment did not include a single phrase about the destruction of these headstones. It was stated that there were intelligence that the marbe masons carved those emblems into those headstones.
The first hearing of the case will be held on 12 December at the Adana 2nd High Criminal Court.
