ANKARA - HDP Group Deputy Chairperson Saruhan Oluç who critisizes the response of the government against the call HDP made for early elections, said: "If you are not afraid of the will of the people, if you don't consider the people as bottomless pits, don't muddy the waters. Take a step regarding this issue and let's help the will of the people emerge together."
People's Democratic Party (HDP) Group Deputy Chairperson Saruhan Oluç made evaluations regarding the latest developments at the weekly press release at the parliament.
Oluç emphasized that we are faced to face with a dire scene on November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Oluç drawing attention to the fact that women are in danger at home, out on the street, at their work places and said: "According to the data of 'We will stop femicide platform' (KCDP), 383 women were murdered by men in the first 10 months of 2019. Only in october, 36 women were murdered by men, mostly by their husbands. There is a very dire scene regarding the women's murders."
Oluç, later mentioning the discussion for the early elections, said: "We say that the early election is the best public opinion poll for the ruling party, which has lost its democratic legitimacy, if they really want to test whether they have the support of the public. Next year is the 100th year of the parliament. At its 100th year, the parliament must be freed from the domination of the executive power. On the 100th anniversary of the parliament, the parliament must work like the constituent assembly and have the will to step forward to establish the parliamentary democracy and stand strong against the executive.
If you are not afraid of the will of the people and do not consider the people as the bottomless pit, do not muddy the waters. Take a step regarding this issue and let's help the will of the people emerge together."
