NEWS CENTER - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Sıromolotov, stating that hundreds of ISIS militants were freed as a result of Turkey's operations, and that the militants fled can ensure ISIS to revive again.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Sıromolotov spoke to Sputnik regarding Turkey's operation against North and East Syria.
Sıromolotov who announced that hundreds of ISIS members have fled during Turkey's operations, said: "There is no exact number of terrorists that have escaped. According to the information we have, there are hundreds of ISIS members escaped.
Stating that Russia is very concerned about this situation, Siromolotov said, “ISIS militants who have been released may influence the re-strengthening of the military potential of the organization.
In general, this is possible due to the escalation of tension in the east of the Euphrates River and the illegal presence of foreign forces in Syria. One of the reasons for the escalation of tension was the incitement of ethnic and sectarian opposition. ”
According to Siromolotov, in order to eliminate this threat and prevent the revival of ISIS, active military operations in the region should not be allowed to resume and the parties involved should contribute to establish the territorian integritiy and sovereignity of Syria.
Sıromolotov said that Soçi Agreement made between Turkey and Russia aimed to do this and that the agreement continues to be implemented decisively.
