DİYARBAKIR - The Democratic Society Congress (DTK), stating that the AKP- MHP ruling bloc is targeting all organized structures of the Kurds, called on to all Kurdish parties and non- governmental organizations for unity against the trustees.
The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) issued a call to people in the four parts of Kurdistan, political parties and civil society organizations against the political coup by the AKP that appointed trustees to the HDP-run municipalities of Diyarbakır, Van and Mardin.
'NEW COLONAL LAW!'
In the statement the DTK said: "[...] The AKP-MHP alliance is currently trying to legitimize neo-colonial law by moving to a new stage in its political genocide operations against the Kurdish people, a policy it has pursued for 100 years."
'ALL KURDS TARGETED'
The statement added: "Bakur Kurdistan, as well as Başür, Rojava and Rojhilat are witnessing a total destruction operation within the framework of an attack against organized structures. The policy followed by the people of Southern Kurdistan following the independence referendum, the occupation of Afrin, the intense military deployment to the Rojava border, the occupation operation called "claw" in Başür and the appointment of trustees to three HDP-run metropolitan municipalities all respond to the same policy which targets Kurds everywhere and has the potential to trigger a regional war. This process, which developed in parallel with the policies followed in Suth Kurdistan and Rojava, is a process that Erdoğan describes as 'total struggle' and targets Kurds in all organized areas."
'NEED FOR A NATIONAL SPIRIT'
The DTK pointed out to the need for "national unity against these policies" and added: "All these attacks should be considered as attacks against the very existence and will of the people of Kurdistanas a whole."
APPEAL TO SOUTH KURDISTAN INSTITUTIONS AND THE PEOPLE
The DTK appealed to the people of South Kurdistan and to its istitutions to join in the protest against the trustees in Bakur as well as the attacks to its own territory.
The DTK also appealed to people all over Kurdistan to "break the silence" and urged their institutions, especially in South Kurdistan to speak out against the policies carried out by Turkey in all four parts of Kurdistan.
The statement underlined that "everyone has a historic responsibility with respect to these attacks and the response to them."
