DİYARBAKIR - Salih Tekin who ended the hunger strike he started at prison and continued at home after his release with Öcalan's call on the 85th day, said öcalan's message is a fresh breath for the Middle East and a beacon for the peoples.

People's Democratic Party (HDP) member Salih Tekin who started the hunger strike in HDP Provincial Building on March 3 with HDP MP Dersim Dağ, was arrested in the second raid. Tekin who was sent to Diyarbakır Type D Prison, continued his hunger strike at his home after his release on April 5. Tekin lost 13 kilos during his 85 day hunger strike. He ended his strike on May 26 with Öcalan's call and was treated in a private hospital.

Tekin who continues his treatment with a diet prescribed by the doctors at his home, still has problems with his blood pressure and pulse. Tekin who stated that even though Öcalan is in solitary confinement for 21 years, he is still trying to find solutions for the Kurdish question and for the democratization of Turkey, said Öcalan's message meant a lot to them. Tekin said: "Mr. Öcalan's solution perspective is a social system perspective that we call democratic confederalism based on collective freedoms. Mr. Öcalan's statement where he said; 'I'm careful to tell you that you should accompany me with sufficient intensity and  from now on' means a situation that reflects the publicity against all the impossibilities in a single cell for 21 years. All those who take a free and democratic attitude in the Middle East should take these ideas as their basis."

Tekin who stated that people are face to face with a fascist block in Turkey and Middle East, said social struggle is a must against these fascist mentalities and dirty blocks.Tekin who mentioned Öcalan's message, said: "It is a breath of fresh air for the  political congestion and the peoples in the Middle East. It is everyone's responsibility to defend peace and maintain democratic values. His message needs to be well understood and everyone needs to own it. Defending peace and democratic values is the duty of everyone."

Tekin stressed that Öcalan wants to establish bridges of peace and democracy between the peoples and said, 'Our struggle for this will continue and grow. Mr. Öcalan's determination is a guide for the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region. We will continue to fight for vitalizing democratic values."
