MALATYA- Fahrettin Tuncel, father of Sebahat Tuncel who is on a hunger strike for 87 days against the isolation in İmralı, said:"Isolation must be removed before reaction causes major explosions."
The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven continues with the participation of thousands of political prisoners.
Fahrettin Tuncel, father of Democratic District Party (DBP) Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel who is on a hunger strike in Kandıra Prison with the same demand for 87 days, spoke to Mezopotamya Agency.
Tuncel who stated that the fact that people are laying their bodies to death creates great concern in the society, said: "To relieve this anxiety, the whole scoiety must claim the hunger strikes. Our calls for awareness does not work. Because the government have created a great pressure on the people. Even the bodies of the people dying are not being delivered to their families and being buried by stealth. On this context, we can say that they are afraid of the people coming together. The government must remove the isolation before these reactions cause major explosions in the society."
Tuncel drawing attention to the people ending their lives in prisons in order to give some voice to the hunger strike action, said: "What are children demand, is not something that is impossible to do. It is a call on to the government to apply by their own laws.Isolation is not legit. They are threatening and terrorising the society. This is very concerning. We are calling on to the authorities to be responsive. If the press, unions and law makers do not make an effort, this can revolve into much greater chaos. The demands must be met at once. Our demand is the removal of the isolation and the termination of the hunger strikes."
