DİYARBAKIR- Family of Hatice Kaymak who is on a hunger strike for 64 days said:" These hunger strikes are a reaction to injustice, we want these injustices to be over."
The hunger strike of Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Paarty (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven with the demand of the termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is on its 122nd day. All PKK Pjak prisoners from all prisons joined the hunger strike of the previous hunger strike continued by 300 prisoners.
Hatice Kaymak from Tarsus Women's Closed Prison is one of them. Raziye Kaymak, sister of Hatice Kaymak made a call to the society to not staying silent.
Remziye Kaymak who last saw her sister on February 15, said the prisoners are being reppressed by the medical personel.
Kaymak who drew attention to the silence of the authorities regarding the hunger strikes,pointing that the problem won't be solved unless some steps are taken,and said: "It will not mean anything if they act after someone dies. In Diyarbakır, one person from every house hold is in prison. Why are our people being taken and imprisoned? We are not being given any rights so our people starts hunger strikes. Is this normal? This has happened before and we lost 4 of our people. Even then the government of that term taken steps but not this one. This government plays blind and deaf. This is not a solution to our problem. We are waiting for them to act now. They can't silence their conscience by staying silent."
