MERSİN- 23 prisoners, 6 of them being women, who are on a hunger strike against isolation is Tarsus Campus Prison said : "This hunger strike will make our wills made of steel. We will win our cause with this will. Be our voices!"
The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven with the demand of termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is on its 111st day. The indefinite non-rotating hunger strike of the 317 political prisoners in 62 differen prisons who participated in Güven's action is continuing.
23 prisoners, 6 of them being women, who are on a hunger strike against isolation in Tarsus Campus No 1,2 and 3 Type T Prisons.
Çukurova Fraternaland Solidarity Association with Prisoners and Convicts (TUAYDER) executive Ali Bilen and the relatives of the prisoners came together with the hunger striker prisoners Erdal Emeç, Fesih Tekin, Deniz Özdemir, Mehmet Fatih Bingöl, Serhat Yıldırım, Murat Karaaslan, Halef Yiğit, Oktay Gül and Bişar Bilen in Tarsus No 1 Type T Prison.
TUAYDER Executive Bilen who gave information about the prisoners they visited on Februaty 20, said they have lost a great deal of weight, have difficulty in speaking and fluid intake.
Bilen who stated that the prisoners are not given the necessary vitamins, drew attention to the fact that their health controlls are not being done regularly.
Bilen who conveyed the message of the prisoners to the public in which they say: " We will be with Leyla Güveb until the isolation breaks. We don't care about dying.And if anyone dies, we will expand the hunger strike more. The numbers will reach thousands.We will turn our wills into steel with this hunger strike and win our cause with it. We will not compromise from our honourable stance. Be our voices!"
