KOCAELİ- The prison administration who called the families of Özlem Söyler and Rühşan Bozan who are on a hunger strike in Gebze Women's Closed Prison for 70 days, said their health conditions are not good and told them to persuade them to end the hunger strike.
The hunger strike initiated by DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven with the demand of terminating the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan have expanded to 62 prisons. The hunger strike started on December 16 is now on its 70th day and the prison administrations are trying to persuade the hunger strikers to quit.
It was learned that the families of Özlem Söyler and Ruhşen Bozan who started the hunger strike on December 16 in Gebze Women's Closed Prison, was called by the prison administration. According to the information obtained, the administration told them that their children's health conditions are not good and that they should persuade them to quit.
The prisoners who sent a message through their families said they did not have any special discomfort except the ones caused by the 70 day hunger strike.
