DİYARBAKIR- Forensic Medicine Institution (ATK) have prepared a scandalous report for 85 year old Sîsê Bingöl. While the report prepared by Mersin University indicates that she has 97 percent function loss in her body and remaining in prison is presenting a life threatening danger, ATK prepared a report claiming she is faking it and she can stay in prison.
As a result of the complaints made by attorneys of 85 year old Bingöl who has been in prison since 2017, the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) has prepared a scandalous report .
Bingöl was arrested and put in Muş Type F Prison with the charge of 'being a member of an illegal organization' in Muş Varto, in April 2016. Bingöl later was released due to her old age and her disease in June 2016. Later the court decided she aided a terrorist organization and arrested her with her son in April 2017.
Her attorneys applied for a permanent postponement of the punishment of Sîsê Bingöl because of permanent illness, disability, and old age , which is stated in Article 104 (b) of the Constitution. On 2 November, she was referred to Mersin University Health Research and Application Center in order to determine if she could stay in prison.
Mersin University report stated that Bingöl didn't even know her age, did not remember what she ate the day before, did not know what month or years we are in, did not remember the names of the people she lives with and sees everyday, was not able to tell if its day or night, she did not have urinary incontinence , she had decreased muscle power. Also, biopsy showed that there were signs of lung cancer. In the evaluation of age and other diseases, 97% loss of function was reported.Therefore, it was emphasized that the fact that Bingöl remained in prison was a vital risk.
Despite the report of Mersin University, ATK reported that she is able to mobilize alone, did not have any permanent illness,disability or old age and concluded she could stay in the prison.
