General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazlûm Abdî made a statement regarding the attacks on the city of Manbij, which is targeted by Turkey and the paramilitary forces it supports. With a post on his virtual media account, Abdî announced that a ceasefire was reached in Manbij.
Abdî said: "While the resistance of our fighters in the city of Minbij continues to stop the spread of attacks from the west of the Euphrates, we have reached a ceasefire agreement in Manbij with the mediation of the United States in order to protect the safety of life and property of civilians. The fighters of the Manbij Military Council, who have been resisting the attacks since 27 November, will be removed from the region as soon as possible. Our goal is to ceasefire in the entire Syrian territory and to enter a political process for the future of the country."
