NEWS CENTRE - Stating that the gains of the women's revolution are targeted with the attacks of paramilitary structures against the region, Kongra Star said: "We must increase our struggle and resistance in every field with the belief in a dignified and free life."
Kongra Star, the umbrella organisation of women in Northern and Eastern Syria, made a written statement regarding the attacks of paramilitary structures supported by Turkey against Afrin-Shahba Canton. In the statement, it was stated that the ongoing war, tension and chaos in the Middle East deeply affects the society in general, especially women and children.
The statement reminded that the Damascus government rejected the calls for dialogue and did not respond to the solution declaration presented by the Democratic Autonomous Administration and continued as follows: "The Damascus government has prepared the ground for a great genocide with this attitude. The occupying Turkish state is trying to use the current situation in its favour in line with exploitation, changing the demographic structure and achieving its Misak-ı Milli (National Pact) goals. In order to achieve these goals, it is trying to destroy the gains of our people and the women's revolution by weakening democratic solutions, and to eliminate the resistance of Kurdish, Arab, Assyrian, Armenian, Circassian and Turkmen peoples in the region.
'WE MUST INCREASE THE RESISTANCE'
As a people, especially as women, we must organise ourselves and strengthen our defence against the war and chaos in the region. We must protect the values of our people, our society and our country by acting on the basis of the Revolutionary People's War strategy. We must increase our struggle and resistance in every field with the belief in an honourable and free life."
