MÊRDÎN - Warplanes bombed the Bagok Mountain countryside, which was banned as a “special security zone” in Nisêbîn district.
The military operation launched yesterday in Bagok Mountain in the countryside of Nisêbîn (Nusaybin) district of Mêrdîn continues. The Governorate declared 8 villages and rural areas as “Temporary Special Security Zone” for 15 days. Following the decision, there has been intense military activity in the region. At around 05.30 in the morning, Xirbê Xelo area in the Bagok Mountain countryside was bombed by warplanes. Then the area came under fire from 3 separate helicopters.
According to the reports, gunshots were heard in the area after the helicopters opened fire. The operation and air activity in the region continues.
