NEWS CENTER - The SDF announced that 2 people were killed in attacks by Damascus forces and Difa Al-Watani groups on Deir ez-Zor.
Damascus government forces and Difa Al-Watani forces targeted the east of Deir ez-Zor in Northern and Eastern Syria yesterday evening. There were intense clashes between Deir ez-Zor and Hajin Military Council forces and attacking groups near the villages of Ziban, Al-Latwa and Abu Hamam.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Contact Center made a statement saying, "Regime forces and Difa Al-Watani groups simultaneously attacked the banks of the Euphrates River east of Deir ez-Zor with the bombardments. During this time, intense clashes took place between Deir ez-Zor and Hajin Military Council forces and attacking forces in the Ziban, Al-Latwa and Abu Hamam regions."
It was reported that 2 civilians were killed and 5 civilians were injured in the villages of Ziban and El Latwa. It was also reported that 2 civilians were injured in Shihil.
The statement noted that SDF forces launched a "cleansing operation" against the attacking groups.
