DEM Party and TJA delegation meets women in Hewler

NEWS CENTER - DEM Party and TJA delegation met with a group of politicians and activist women in Hewler.
 
The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and Free Women’s Movement (TJA) delegation’s contacts in the Federated Kurdistan Region continue. The delegation, which also included DEM Party Şirnex (Şırnak-Kurdistan) Deputies Nevroz Uysal Aslan and Gülcan Kaçmaz and former deputy Ayşe Acar Başaran, met with a group of politicians and activist women in Hewler regarding the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the attacks on the region.
 
Parêz Omer, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) Hewler candidate in the parliamentary elections expected to take place in the Kurdistan Region on October 20, also attended the meeting. Parêz Omer said: “We are happy to welcome the delegation as a group of politicians and activist women. This meeting was both friendly and national, as well as an original women’s meeting.”
 
Omer said: “Wherever we are, our nation is one. On this basis, we want to work more together in solving women’s, national and country’s problems. Our main goal is to open a new door in order to ensure that Kurdish women can come together more.”
 
Aslan from the DEM Party said: “As women, we face great oppression and difficulties in Kurdistan, the Middle East and the world. In addition to being women, the oppression policies applied to us because we are also Kurdish women are also different. There are different oppression policies applied in every part of Kurdistan. Pêxşan Ezizi in Iran is facing the risk of execution. Today, a great war is taking place in Kurdistan. We have responsibilities as the people and women. The unity, support and awareness of women will have a deep meaning in building our national reality. Because women are the foundation and pioneers of society." 
 
Aslan also spoke to Rojnews about the meeting. Aslan said the following: "We discussed the general situation of Kurdish women in Kurdistan and their problems stemming from the war. We also drew attention to the contributions of women to Kurdish national unity and the importance of Kurdish women's relations, sharing of experiences, and their common platforms. We talked about the impact of the conditions of Kurdish leaders on achieving Kurdish national unity; in this context, the conditions of Mr. Öcalan, and the development of the campaign against isolation worldwide."
