AMED - While protests and demonstrations for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continue in different countries around the world, isolation will be protested in many centers in Germany on July 14.
Large-scale protests against the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan will take place in many centers across Europe on July 14.
No news has been received from Öcalan, who has been held in isolation in Imrali Type F High Security Closed Prison for 40 months. The global campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, democratic solution to the Kurdish issue" launched on October 10, 2023 against the "absolute" isolation of Abdullah Öcalan continues in its second phase.
Within the scope of the campaign, demonstrations and events continue in many European cities. In this context, mass protests will be held on the anniversary of the Great Death Fast, which was initiated on July 14, 1982 in Diyarbakır Prison under the leadership of Kemal Pir, Akif Yılmaz, Mehmet Hayri Durmuş and Ali Çiçek against severe torture.
Speaking about the isolation policy and the protests they will organize in Germany, Confederation of Kurdistan Societies (KON-MED) Germany Press Spokesperson Mazlum Karagöz said that the isolation policy against Öcalan is not independent from the international conspiracy 25 years ago.
ISOLATION POLICY
Stating that the isolation policy implemented by the AKP-MHP government not only affects Abdullah Öcalan, but also the Middle East and the world, "The continuation of the isolation policy does not go beyond creating chaos. In the past, the dialog process that developed during the talks with Abdullah Öcalan had led to positive political, military and economic developments. However, the AKP-MHP alliance's insistence on war policies caused many problems to deepen" Karagöz said.
MASS DEMONSTRATIONS WILL BE ORGANIZED
Stating that they have been continuing their resistance against the isolation policy with mass actions and events until today, Karagöz said that they will hold mass actions in many countries on the anniversary of the July 14 resistance.
Karagöz said: "The protests are in parallel with the prison resistance put forward by Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. For 40 years, Turkey's policies towards the Kurds have continued unchanged. Mr. Öcalan's stance is also a prison resistance. In addition, for 40 years Turkey's policies against the Kurds have continued unchanged. Against this, a resistance has always developed, especially against Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. On July 14, the attacks of fascism were met with great resistance. Today, there are resistances against isolation both in prisons and in many centers of the world."
'PEOPLE ARE ANGRY AGAINST ISOLATION'
On July 14th, Karagöz shared that they are continuing their preparations for the protests and continued as follows: "Our work continues through shopkeeper visits, leaflet distributions and social media. We can observe in our work that the people have a great anger and sensitivity against isolation. We will take this anger to the squares on July 14th. Our main message in the protests will be to ensure the physical freedom of Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. From here, we once again call on all those who advocate for democracy and human rights to come together and raise our voices against the isolation."
On July 14, the program of the actions to be held in Germany is as follows:
"*Dortmund: 14.00, Born Straße 166.
*Cologne: 14.00, Zehnt Str 7.
*Darmstadt: 14.30, Staudingerstr 7.
