COLEMÊRG - Colemêrg Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Sıddık Akış, who was replaced by a trustee after he was taken into custody, greeted all segments of society resisting the trustee's decision in his meeting with the lawyer.
People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Colemêrg (Hakkari) Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Sıddık Akış was suspended from duty after being detained yesterday and a trustee was appointed in his place. Akış, who was detained in Wan, was brought to Colemêrg yesterday. After a 24-hour ban on seeing lawyers, he met with his lawyers. Akış greeted the resistance in the city. Stating that he is in good spirits during the consultation with his lawyer, Akış described what happened as a "coup attempt against democracy". Akış sent greetings to all segments of society who have been against the usurpation of will since the time he was detained.
REACTION TO NEWS THAT CREATE PERCEPTION
On the other hand, it was stated that the confidentiality decision regarding the file continues. Ömer Akış, one of the lawyers who met with Akış, said that the news about his clients in the pro-government media was done to "influence the judiciary". Lawyer Akış said: "Our Co-Mayor Akış had to stay in Wan due to the late hour after returning from the meeting held in Diyarbakir. He was detained in a house raid in the morning while he was about to set out for Colemêrg. The slanders made by the pro-government media that 'he was caught while trying to escape' do not reflect the truth. The ruling media also shares false information about the file, which even we cannot access and which is still limited. This situation is intended to target and influence the judiciary. Co-Mayor Akış told the court that he wanted to attend the trial in person on June 5. Why would a person who expresses this run away? No one should believe these manipulations."
