VAN- An investigation was launched against 54 lawyers who expressed their support to the family of Jîna Emini, who was murdered by the regime forces in Iran.
Last year, 54 lawyers issued a joint statement and announced their support to the family of Jîna Emini, who died in Tehran after being tortured by the "vice squad". The lawyers condemned this situation by stating that the government officials had acted illegally with a joint signature.
The Bukan Chief Public Prosecutor's Office called 54 lawyers to the prosecutor's office to testify. In the letter sent to the lawyers by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was written that they were summoned to testify "for publishing photographs, films and articles contrary to the protection of general principles". In the article, it was also stated that the lawyers were given 5 days to testify and that they would be brought to court 5 days after the statements.
