DİYARBAKIR- The Kaçar family, who was removed from their AFAD tent after the report of "minor damage" was given to the building they were living in, started to stay on the street because they did not trust the reports of the teams.

 

The Kaçar family of 7 people, including 5 children, living in Diyarbakır, one of the cities affected by the Maraş-centered earthquake, settled in one of the tents set up by AFAD in the City Square of the central Peyas district after the earthquake; however, the family was evicted from the tent after the "slightly damaged" report was given to their house by the Diyarbakır Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. The family remained on the street because of the danger of their house being demolished.

 

NO ANSWER TO OBJECTION

 

While the family spends the night on the street, there are visible damage to the columns of the house. 5 families still remain in the building, where many families moved to other places due to damage. There is no response to the new review request of the building residents who objected to the report.

 

Stating that they were taken out of the tent after 20 days, İkram Kaçar said: "We spent the night on the street where our house was located because we had no place to go. We could not enter our house due to the visible destruction. Either we will enter our house and be under it or we will be here on the street. I am here for my children, not for myself. The authorities should hear our voice."

 

‘THE BUILDING IS DAMAGED’

 

Stating that their house was damaged in the first earthquake, Ali Kaçar also said: "We stayed in the tent for 20 days. They took us out of the tent on the grounds that our house is 'slightly damaged'. Will they find a solution after the building is demolished?”
