NEWS CENTER - It was stated that Zakho University removed the map of Kurdistan that it hung on its building, upon the pressures of Turkey, and hung the map of the Federated Kurdistan Region.

 

According to Rojnews, a large map of Kurdistan was hung on the Faculty of Social Sciences of Zakho University on August 20. However, the map in question was removed yesterday by the decision of the university administration. Instead, a map of the Federated Kurdistan Region was hung.

 

It was stated that the map was removed after the visit of the Turkmen Kurdistan Region Components Minister Aydın Maruf, who is known for his close relations to Turkey, to the Zakho University Turkish Language Department. It was stated that Maruf put pressure on the regional government to remove the map.

 

There was no explanation from the university administration on the subject.
