VAN - A citzen named Yakup Avan was subjected to the torture of the gendermerie in front of his house. He was detained and then arrested. The horse of Avan who was not given an assault report, was also killed by the soldiers.

 

A citizen named Yakup Avan living in the Özalp district of Van, was tortured and detained by the Gendarmerie in front of his house on the night of 2 April. It was stated that Avan was accused os smuggling and his horse was shot with a fire arm by the gendermerie, then he was tortured and detained.

 

Avan, who was taken to the Özalp District Gendarme Command, was then taken to the Van Criminal Corut of Peace on Duty. The judge issued an arrest warrant for Avan on the allegation of "smuggling". Despite being tortured by the gendarmerie in front of his house, the hospital did not give an assault report to Avan. It was seen that there were fractures in his left and right hands and scars on his face.
