It has been learned that Deniz Tepeli who witnessed the murder of Garibe Gezer, who died in Kandıra No. 1 Type F High Security Prison, went on a hunger strike on December 27. Announcing that Tepeli went on a hunger strike against the fact that she was not heard as a witness in Gezer's death, former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ, who is imprisoned in the same prison, informed that Tepeli's demand to be heard was also rejected.
SHE WENT ON A HUNGER STRIKE TO BE ABLE TO SAY SHE SAW GEZER BEING MURDERED
Writing a letter to Etkin News Agency (ETHA), Yüksekdağ said: "The efforts to prevent the murder of Garibe Gezer to be covered up is tested with prison walls. Deniz who shared the same yard with Garibe went on a hunger strike to be able to testify and say that she saw Garibe getting killed. According to the information we obtained a little late due to the aggravated isolation, Deniz was rejected to be heard as a witness even though she is the only one who saw what happened. Deniz went on a hunger strike just to be able to say that she saw Gezer being murdered. The judiciary that loves to listen to fake witnesses once again rejected to hear a real witness. Now we are making efforts to avoid another person leave this prison in a coffin. She shouldn't have to pay a heavy price just to tell the truth. Just to tell what she saw."
