DİYARBAKIR - Fırat Dari was given a disciplinary penalty and deprived of his right to phone calls with his family for a month on grounds that he spoke to his mother in Kurdish. The prison administration claimed that Dari was speaking in codes.

The violations of rights are increasing in prisons while the hunger strike started by the prisoners demanding an end to the continued isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan enters its 47th day.

PENALTY FOR SPEAKING

Fırat Dari, being held in Tokat Type T Closed Prison in scope of the Nusaybin case for 6 years, spoke to her mother on the phone in Kurdish. Dari asked her mother in Kurdish 'How are things in Amed?' and her mother answered in Kurdish saying that everything is fine but a little bit rainy, a disciplinary investigation was launched against Dari. It was stated that Dari was deprived of his right to his weekly phonecalls by the prison administration who claims that they spoke in codes.

Tokat T Tipi Kapalı Cezaevi’nde Nusaybin davasında 6 yıldır tutuklu bulunan Fırat Dari, 4 Ocak günü annesiyle yaptığı telefon görüşmesinde, Kürtçe konuştuğu belirtildi. Dari’nin telefonda annesine, “rewşa Amedê çawaye (Amed’in durumu nasıl) diye sorması, annesi Seniha Dari’nin de “Başe, barane (İyidir, Yağmurlu)” ifadesi nedeniyle disiplin soruşturması başlatıldığı kaydedildi. Soruşturmada, söz konusu ifadenin şifreli bir konuşma olduğu öne sürülerek Fırat Dari’ye 1 aylık telefonla görüş yasağı cezası verildiği dile getirildi.
