ANKARA - Police prevented citizens from participating in the "Peace chain" event that HDP wanted to organize in front of Ankara Station. HDP members left carnations for 103 people who lost their lives in front of Ankara Train Station.
Police attacked the "Peace chain" event of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), which was intended to commemorate 103 people who lost their lives as a result of the ISIS bomb that killed 103 people and wounded hundreds at the Ankara Train Station on October 10, 2015. HDP was going to celebrate theon September 1, World Peace Day and commemorate those who were slaughtered in the Peace Rally. While the police blockaded the Ankara Station, they prevented the citizens who wanted to participate in the event to go to the train station. Also, journalists who wanted to follow the event were blocked.
Only the members of parliament were allowed to the area. HDP MPs left carnations to commemorate the 103 people.
Citizens, who took a short walk to the Youth Park, chanted "Long live peace" in Turkish and Kurdish. A citizen named Aydın Erdoğan was taken into custody and was battered by the police.
