ÖHD: 250 graves destroyed in Lice 2020-06-03 12:05:29   DİYARBAKIR - Stating that they reported that 250 graveyards were destroyed in Yolçatı District of Lice, ÖHD Diyarbakır Branch manager Av. Baver Mızrak shared that they would apply to international institutions regarding the attacks.   The Lawyers Association for Freedom (ÖHD) delegation prepared a report on the attacks against the cemetery in the Lice district of Diyarbakır. ÖHD Diyarbakır Branch Board Member Av. Baver Mızrak made evaluations about their findings.   250 GRAVESTONES DESTROYED   Mızrak mentioning their investigation at the Sîsê Graveyard on May 29, said: "Sîsê is a cemetery built during the peace process and there are around 250 people laid to rest there. With the end of the peace process, this cemetery was attacked once or twice a year. According to the families, the soliders returning from operations go in there, destroying a couple of headstones. At our latest investigation at the cemetery, we found that all 250 headstones were destroyed."   WE WILL MAKE APPLICATIONS   Mızrak emphasized that besides the crimes of 'threat' and 'insult', the crime 'insulting and torturing the memory of the person' is also being committed and said: "This is our call to the families; if you want to follow up this process, you have our support till the end. As the ÖHD, we are ready to take their applications. It is also our call to all non-governmental organizations, unions, intellectuals and writers. We are waiting for their solidarity to end these inhumane practices."   Mızrak shared that they will ve applying to European Parliament, Council of Europe, United Nations and international organizations in the upcoming days.
