Police raid on Rosa Women Association 2020-05-22 12:49:27   DİYARBAKIR - Scores of members and executives of Rosa Women's Association taken into custody during a raid on the association building in scope of the Diyarbakır based police operation.   As part of an investigation conducted in Diyarbakır, many Kurdish politicians' homes were raided in the morning. The police also raided the building of the Rosa Women's Association where they detained the members and executives. It was stated that the police busted through the door, and did not say on what grounds the operation was being carried out. All documents in the building was confiscated.   The raid was announced from the social media account of the association. The statement of the association was as follows: "We have worked and struggled without interruption since the day we founded our association in this era where women are exposed to violence on a daily basis. The attack against our association is unacceptable. We will not submit to this annihilation policy against us and we will keep getting stronger. We call all women's institutions to be in solidarity with Rosa. Release our friends under custody immediately!"   THOSE WHO WERE DETAINED IN THE RAID   Rosa Women's Association founding members Narin Gezgör and Ayla Akat Ata, Rosa Women's Association President Adalet Kaya, Free Women's Movement (TJA) activists Gülcihan Şimşek and Zelal Bilgin, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) former Co-Chair Mehmet Arslan, HDP Central Executive Board (MYK) member Özlem Gündüz, HDP Yenişehir District Co-Chairs Remziye Sızıcı and Kasım Kaya, HDP member Mehmet Ali Altınkaynak, Kurdish politician Celal Yoldaş, Nazile Tursun, Rosa Women's Association Manager Fatma Gültekin, TJA activist Zelal Bilgin.
