Kurtulan from HDP: AKP turned the crisis into an opportunity 2020-05-17 15:37:23 MERSÄ°N- HDP Mersin MP Fatma Kurtulan states her opinions regarding how the ruling party AKP turned the coronavirus crisis into an opporunity: "As the whole world tries to find the ways to cope with the pandemic, the government seeks to oppress the Kurdish and HDP". Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Mersin MP Kurtulan shared her evaluations regarding the appointed trutees for the places of the elected municipality mayors. Kurtulan told: "In the beginning of the pandemic they appointed 8 trutess, and they have recently appointed 5 of them. Amid the pandemic they continue to appoint truetees. Many states around to world tries to find the ways to cope with the pandemic and how to turn themselves into become 'social states' and 'to save the needs of their people', but the government in Turkey applies policies to oppress the opposition, the defenders of democracy, the Kurdish and HDP. The government seeks to institutionalize its fascism by turning all the crises into an opportunity."   Pointing out to the attacks against the cemeteries and the attacks against municipalities by the trustees, Kurtulan said: "We have always stated this: thw word 'Kurd' is the most repulsive word for AKP. AKP is in such a point that it says 'I am not an enemy of the Kurds, I am the enemy of just HDP'. However, what happens in cemeteries and in municipalities is nothing but the hatred against Kurds. However, our struggle has strong roots. We will stand tall against the attacks of AKP together with all the different layers of society and we will never give up raising the struggle."
