MEBYA DER: Directorate of Religious Affairs should explain the attacks on cemeteries 2020-04-25 11:12:01 DİYARBAKIR - MEBYA DER reacting to the attacks on cemeteries, noted that the Directorate of Religious Affairs should explain these attacks on cemeteries. MEBYA DER, an association of solidarity for families who lost their loved ones, recently made a written statement about the attacks on the cemeteries.   The statement says: "The gravestones were detsroyed in front of the families in Van and the families were threatened. Lately they destroyed the gravestones in Silvan, saying that they will erase the letters Q,W and X, which are in the Kurdish alphabet. The government is increasing their offense against the Kurdish people while the world is fighting coronavirus. This is the result of the hostility against the Kurds and their language. The government prefers to pressure the democratic rights and freedoms instead of fighting the virus. The operations against the Kurds continue, people are dying in prisons, Mustafa Koçak lost his life on the first day of Ramadan and the gravestones of Kurds are being destroyed."   CALL TO THE DIRECTORATE OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS   MEBYA- DER finally made a call to the Directorate of Religious Affairs and said: "We are calling on to the officals of the government. End these attacks immediately. The Directorate of Religious Affairs should explain these attacks against the cemeteries.  What is the meaning of making the families destroy their children's gravestones? Can you explain this with law or religion? As MEBYA DER we will continue to fight against this and we will be taking legal action against this, reiterating these attacks from all platforms."
