Father whose two sons in prison: They released Çakıcı, left my sons for dead 2020-04-21 12:08:26   İSTANBUL - The reaction of the families of political prisoners who are excluded from the new law on execution continues. Mehmet Ali Can whose two sons are in prison, said: "They released gangster Alaattşn Çakıcı and left my two sick sons for dead."   On the night of April 13, when the Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül announced that 17 prisoners were diagnosed with coronavirus and 3 of them died, “The Law on the Execution of Criminal and Security Measures and the  Amendment on Some Laws” have adopted by the parliament with the votes of AKP and MHP deputies.  Excluded from the scope of the regulation, political prisoners were left to die in prisons.   The families of the political prisoners are concerned for the lives of their loved ones and demanding that the political prisoners to be included in the law.   Mehmet Ali Can whose two sons are in prison is among these families. One of his sons, Erdal Can is in Sİlivri No 5 Type L Psion and his other son Fırat Can is in Denizli Type T Closed Prison.    Stating that his son Erdal Can, who is in the Silivri Prison, had undergone surgery several times and that one of his kidney was was removed, father Can said his son told him that even though several friends shows the symptoms of Covid- 19 but the prison administration does not test those prisoners. His son also explained that they demanded their friends to be hospitalized but the prison administration told them if they take the prisoners to the hospital they will remain in the hospital in quarantine for two weeks and that they objected, telling the prison administration that the hospitals are more dangerous.   Father Can, telling that he is worried about his sons' health, said: "They released the gangster Alaattin Çakıcı, they released the thieves, rapists. But my two sick sons are left for dead in prison." Father Can demanded that, like everywhere else in the world, Turkey should also release the political prisoners immediately.
