
Court decides that Tuncel and Kışanak are to stay in jail

	MALATYA - The new hearing of the trial resumed after the jail sentence against Amed Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Gültan Kışanak and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Sebahat Tuncel, was held at the 5th High Criminal Court in Malatya.

	Because of the coronavirus outbreak there was actually no hearing, and the temporary court board took its decision by examining the file.

	&nbsp;

	Underlining that Kışanak is suffering from a chronic illness, her lawyers stated both Tuncel and Kışanak are at risk if they continued to be held in prison.

	The temproray court board rejected the lawyers' requests and decided to continue the detention of both politicians.

	&nbsp;

	The next hearing has been set for 29 May.
