SOHR: Armed fight despite the ceasefire in Idlib 2020-03-06 14:37:52 NEWS CENTER - The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that there were casualties due to the mutual targeting and clashes between the regime forces and mercenary groups on Jabal Zawiya axes after midnight Thursday-Friday, and after the start of the new ceasefire.   As 6 members of the regime forces were killed, while at least 9 of the mercenaries of the "Turkestan Islamic Party" of Turkey were killed.   The Syrian Observatory published a few moments ago: the new ceasefire signed between Russia and Turkey spent its first 8 hours in relative calm and cautioned the entire region, as regime and Russian warplanes are absent from the airspace of the region since the agreement entered into force.   While the cautious calm in its first three hours permeated mutual missiles between the regime forces and mercenaries at the axes of Saraqib countryside east of Idlib city, in addition to the regime forces firing several shells at areas in Al-Abzmo and Takad in the western Aleppo countryside, and Al-Fateera and Al-Bara in Jabal Al-Zawiya, after that the calm calm returned to the area.   Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced yesterday evening a ceasefire in Idlib.   This agreement is not the first of its kind, as all previous agreements on the cease-fire have failed and subsequently led to a major escalation round, during which Turkish soldiers fell.
