Singing banned in Kalkandere Prison 2020-03-02 12:49:30 DÄ°YARBAKIR - Veysi Esen, who is being held in Kalkandere Prison, stated that the prison administration has brought new prohibitions, stating that they are still being held together with ordinary prisoners. After the military coup of Kenan Evren, new prohibitions were put into effect in the Rize Kalkandere L Type Closed Prison, which came to the agenda with the 'Mix them fix them' system which puts prisoners from different fractions and opinions being held together. Veysi Esen who is being held in this prison reported the violations of rights and bans imposed on the prisoners.   Esen stating that they are being held together with ordinary prisoners, listed the violations of rights as follows: They give us the jerseys we requested, but don't allow us to wear them. Playing football is prevented by the prison administration. The ball was banned because it hits the walls and make noise. They allow us to play football but we are not allowed to score goals. There is a similar ban on Halay too. We are allowed to do it but we are not allowed to sing."
